About me.
Writer / Director / Producer

I’m Stephanie, an African American screenwriter and audio drama producer who grew up as that “one black girl” in the classroom. My father was in the military so half of my childhood was spent overseas. I even saved my family from a terrorist attack while living in Madrid.
The rest of my childhood was in the white suburbs of Northern California. As a result, I struggled with my identify, being too black for the white kids and too white for the black kids.
My experiences have lead me to write science fiction, thrillers and dramas about the underdogs of the world. From the kid that was picked on growing up, the adult that hasn’t really found their way yet or the mom that struggles with perfection. I enjoy exploring these premises in film, audio and television. This is evident in my award winning audio drama called, Alpha 8 and feature screenplay, What Happened in Folsom. I love exploring family dynamics through character and thrive in developing content centered on social justice issues.
